Deck Stacked: World No.1 Federico Staksrud to Headline Hangzhou Open

The World No.1 and World Champion is China-bound.

Federico Staksrud is coming to the Hangzhou Open courts, closing the curtain on PPA Tour Asia’s inaugural season – and he’s bringing double gold from Dallas with him.

The 29-year-old Argentinian stole the show at the Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships earlier this month, walking away with two gold medals and the No.1 Men’s Singles ranking. In an action packed week in Texas, Staksrud captured the Men’s Singles crown, then teamed up with Hayden Patriquin to take down the seemingly unstoppable duo of Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio in an emotional semifinal before defeating JW Johnson and CJ Klinger in the Men’s Doubles final.

Staksrud is the name everyone’s chasing and now that chase is coming to Asia.

The region’s best will get their chance to test themselves against the reigning World Champion as PPA Tour Asia makes its historic debut on mainland China.

The Hangzhou Open runs December 3-6 and brings with it US$50,000 in prize money, 1000 Asia ranking points and 500 PPA Tour points. Registration closes November 19 so don’t miss your last chance to Play Where the Pros Play in 2025.
