Ho Chi Minh City Ready as MB Vietnam Open Main Draw Launches
| September 5, 2025
Main draw action has landed at Global City Sports Park, and the MB Vietnam Open 2025 is ready to sizzle with an all-Vietnamese showdown to start Friday’s festivities.
Panas Malaysia Open champion Giang Trinh meets Le Xuan Duc in the Men’s Singles opener – one of four Vietnamese players who bulldozed through qualifying to crash the main draw party. The home crowd won’t have to wait long for their first chance to go wild.
Trinh sits third in the draw with a potential semifinal date against top seed Wong Hong Kit lurking on the horizon. Their rivalry has already delivered two instant classics this year, and Vietnam would love nothing more than to see their hero flip the script on home soil.
The morning singles action also serves up a UPA Asia Trailblazer clash as local favorite Ho Tam squares off against Wei Ting Chieh. Fresh from Fukuoka bronze, the Chinese Taipei star arrives in Ho Chi Minh City hunting something even more impressive – a fourth straight Women’s Doubles gold. So watch out Wei for her throughout the week as she looks to stretch the stats to their limits.

American star power floods the doubles draws. Meghan Dizon owns top billing in both Women’s Doubles (with Alix Truong) and Mixed Doubles (with AJ Koller), while the Truong siblings – proudly repping their Vietnamese roots – grabbed the second Mixed Doubles seed.
India’s Vanshik Kapadia makes his PPA Tour Asia return after cleaning up in Malaysia. New tournament, new partners – Tejas Mahajan in men’s and Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall in mixed – but same championship expectations.
The Mehta family brings their own drama after both Harsh and Naimi powered through Mixed Doubles qualifying. Big brother Harsh gets first crack at the main draw, facing top seeds Koller/Dizon alongside Jamie Haas. A semifinal sibling collision?
With tickets sold-out for both Saturday and Championship Sunday, things are going to get loud around the court in Ho Chi Minh City. Be sure to catch all the Championship Court and Grandstand action LIVE here.
