Giang Trinh started his journey at the Panas Malaysia Open 2025 in qualifying, but now he is set to light up the final of the Pro Men’s Singles on Championship Sunday. Trinh secured his spot in the gold medal match of the inaugural PPA Tour Asia tournament with a full-distance semifinal win over top seed Wong Hong Kit.

It was a showdown where extended rallies were the norm. The full arsenal of touch, angles and incredible court coverage was on display as the duo battled it out, running from kitchen to corner on repeat. While Trinh lost the opener, he grinded his way to the win 2-1 (5-11, 11-7, 11-7).

The match won the hearts the 9Pickle crowd, with both athletes finishing the encounter on the ground in an embrace of both camaraderie and exhaustion.

Not to be outdone on the opposite side of the draw, Vanshik Kapadia is also making waves as a qualifier. Kapadia will square off against Trinh in the final, having broke the hearts of the local fans, defeating Jimmy Liong in straight games (11-9, 11-3). On top of a place in the singles final, the Indian star will also be competing in Pro Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles semifinals, as he stalks a possible triple.

In the women’s draws, the potential for a Triple Crown will also raise the stakes. Long Yufei and Nicola Schoeman will clash in the Pro Women’s Singles final, with both still without a loss to their name across three events in Malaysia.

With qualifying fairytales and Triple Crowns on the line, you will not want to miss Championship Sunday at the Panas Malaysia Open 2025.
