Panas Malaysia Cup 2025 continues to deliver the action and Champion Sunday is ready to dial up the drama. Two possible triple crowns are on the cards with both Christian Alshon and Kaitlyn Christian set to compete in all three of Sunday’s finals.

On the Singles front Alshon saw off Hoang Nam Ly in straight games (11-7, 11-7) in the semifinal to set up a showdown with Hong Kong Open champion Hong Wong Kit. Meanwhile Christian needed all three games to book her ticket to the Women’s Singles final, defeating Andie Dikosavljevic in a match full of momentum swings 2-1 (11-4, 2-11, 11-4). Standing in her way will be Dutch star and multiple PPA Tour Australia gold medalist Roos van Reek.

Christian with Chinese Taipei rep Chao Yi Wang were pushed the distance in the Women’s Doubles semifinals. The #2 seed dropped the first game to Sahra Dennehy and Aiko Yoshitomi, but quickly got a handle on the match and tempo, taking control for a 2-1 (8-11, 11-1, 11-6) win. They will come up against Aussie duo Danni-Elle Townsend and Nicola Schoeman who have not slowed down after knocking out the top seeds.

Meanwhile, Christian Alshon has been collabing with Ben Johns for the first time and continue to up the ante as the tournament rolls on. The pair locked up a gold medal showdown with a convincing win over Zane Navratil and Armaan Bhatia (11-6, 11-2). They will face #2 seeds Tyson McGuffin and Eric Oncins in the final.

With Alshon and Christian teaming up the Mixed Doubles, the duo will not be in each other’s way in the chase for the triple. The pair are yet to drop a game here in Malaysia and were looking in sync on Saturday as they saw off Sahra Dennehy and Santhosh Narayanan in the semifinal 2-0 (11-5, 11-5).

The biggest threat to their dreams of gold could come in that event in the form in the guise of Ben Johns and Anna Bright.

Mixed Doubles top seeds Anna Bright and Ben Johns will be out to shutdown the triple crown dream.

This is just the second time ever that Johns and Bright have teamed up, having first joined forces at the  LA Open in 2024 where they reached the final. After notching up a Saturday win over Alix and Jonathan Truong (11-8, 11-5), they are in to a PPA gold medal match together for a second time and will be keen to take that one extra step up the podium.

Bronze medal matches kick off Championship Sunday at 8am (GMT+8) with the finals hitting the courts not before 2pm (GMT+8).
